Kookaburra
I used to have this song on a 45 LP when I was a kid...it was one of my favorites.
It's hard to see, but the first two verses of the song (font in the image is Dandelion) are repeated in the background of the image adding to the texture.
Here are the lyrics:
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree.
Merry, merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra! Laugh, Kookaburra!
Gay your life must be.
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree.
Eating all the gum drops he can see.
Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra!
Leave some there for me.
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree.
Chasing all the monkeys he can see.
Stop, Kookaburra! Stop, Kookaburra!
That's no monkey, that's me!
Kookaburra sits on a rusty nail.
Puts a boo-boo on his tail.
Cry, Kookaburra! Cry, Kookaburra!
Oh how life can be.

What an adorable piece! I think the dark background really helps the tree and the birdy pop. Great job.

Love the illustration!!! It's very vibrant and cheerful, and it does bring back memories. One of my favorite songs as a kid too!
